Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-14

Welcome to readbiz (ReadBiz, the "Site", "we", "us"). Please read these terms before using anything here. By visiting the Site, creating an account, or paying for a subscription, you agree to everything below. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. What we provide

The Site takes public XBRL financial data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR system (10-K, 10-Q, 20-F filings, etc.), normalizes it, translates it into Chinese, and displays it alongside plain-language explanations and automated health checks.

This includes cross-company unified statement headers across the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement; quarter-over-quarter trends; year-over-year deltas; click-to-explain tooltips; sign-aware labelling for bidirectional line items; written business narratives; and any features we add over time.

2. Not investment advice

This is the most important clause. Everything on the Site — data displays, explanations, health checks, trend charts, business narratives, everything — is for informational and educational purposes only. None of it is investment advice, an offer, a solicitation, a recommendation, or any kind of guarantee.

3. Data sources & accuracy

All raw financial numbers come from the SEC EDGAR public API. What we do is normalization and translation — we do not modify the underlying numbers. We are, however, not liable for:

You can — and should — verify any number against the original 10-K or 10-Q. Spotted something wrong? Email support@readbiz.app.

4. Accounts

Some features require an account (email login or Google OAuth, with identity provided by Supabase). Once you register:

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by email.

5. Waitlist & email

Joining the Waitlist means you agree to receive email notifications from us when the companies you requested go live. Every email contains an unsubscribe link; once you unsubscribe we delete your email. See our Privacy Notice for details.

6. Paid subscriptions

Some features are offered through paid subscription tiers (such as "Founding"). Subscription terms:

7. What you can and can't do

You're welcome to:

You may not:

If you violate any of the above, we may restrict access, suspend, or terminate your account without notice, and we reserve all legal remedies.

8. Intellectual property

Raw SEC EDGAR data is in the public domain. We hold copyright and other applicable rights in our original content — including but not limited to our tag-mapping logic, terminology translations, written explanations, business narratives, health-check rules, design, and code. Except for the citation uses explicitly allowed in section 7, you may not copy, modify, redistribute, or use our content commercially without written permission.

9. Third-party services

The Site relies on the following third-party services; your use of those features is also subject to each provider's terms:

10. Service availability

We do our best to keep the Site up, but we don't guarantee 24/7 uninterrupted access. Maintenance, upgrades, third-party outages, and SEC API issues can all cause temporary unavailability. We also reserve the right to add, change, or retire any feature at any time.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

12. Termination

You can stop using the Site any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitation of liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution) survive.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email (if you have an account) or via an in-Site notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.

14. Minors

The Site is not directed at children under 14. If you are under 18, please use the Site only with a guardian's consent and supervision, and do not purchase any paid subscription.

15. Disputes

If something goes wrong, please email support@readbiz.app first — we're a small team and we'd rather resolve things through a direct conversation than anything else. We read every message.

If informal resolution doesn't work, the consumer-protection laws and ordinary legal rules of your own jurisdiction apply. Nothing in these terms is intended to waive any non-waivable consumer right you have where you live.
